A clear audit trail of who has raised an RFI, who it has been distributed to and who needs to answer it with optional attachments. With this, all information that is submitted will be stored within the BuilderStorm platform and can never be tampered with or removed.
An RFI can be sent to an email address or a user on the system. All users can then reply via email which will be pulled into BuilderStorm automatically, so they don’t need to be on the system to answer RFIs.
The Request for Information (RFI) section was the first feature that we created at BuilderStorm, in response to a specific request from a client. From there, further features were requested and the result is the complete and entire solution you see today.The RFIs feature within BuilderStorm will manage your project’s request for information procedure and replace the many different ways that these are carried out today. We envisage our system becoming the industry standard for construction RFIs. Improved speed, communication and clarity, combined with the fact that everyone is working on the same platform, will vastly improve your existing RFI system. You can replace Word documents that need to be opened, edited, saved, attached and sent with our simple RFI interface.
As each of your RFIs are created, it is assigned with a unique reference number. You can add attachments and specify a due date for the response. You can also forward the RFI to anyone within the project and they will then receive a notification that a new RFI has been issued.
This feature uses our unique colour-coded padlock system to track the status of your RFIs, so you can see at a glance how your project is performing. A chart will be visible in the homepage overview showing the ratio of open/closed and ontime/late RFIs.
Each RFI you create is then stored for the duration of the project, meaning you don’t need to hunt down emails, printed documents or phone records to verify when a RFI was created or resolved; all the information is ready for you to view within BuilderStorm.
Users with the permission to respond to RFIs can add text and attachments, and other users can add comments to help resolve any issues or ask for more clarification. As response deadlines approach, relevant parties will be notified that an answer is required; this will help improve response times and ensure your project progresses as smoothly as possible.
