Give a user the exact features they need
BuilderStorm’s User Management feature allows you to create users and companies and determine how you want each person to be able to use the system. This can range from limiting which sections they can see to setting appropriate permissions to control the actions that they can perform. Generally, the total number of users and companies is unlimited (subject to your quota). You can tailor each user’s experience by altering their profile but to speed up processes, you can also create ‘permission groups’.
Permission groups are custom-created sets of permissions that can be applied to a group of users in one quick action. For example, you might create a group called “Buyers” whose experience is going to revolve around the Procurements section and where you set the permissions you require. However, just because a user is in the “Buyers” permission group doesn’t mean they are restricted to just those permissions. You can override group permissions for a specific user or add any permissions within that specific user’s profile. The system is totally flexible.
Permission groups can also be selected to appear in other sections of the website. The Allocations, Timesheets and Training Compliance features all use different permission groups to populate their data so, for example, you might choose to omit sub-contractors from your own timesheets. This is useful for excluding whole groups from report data.
Setting up companies
In much the same way as you set up users on the BuilderStorm system, you can create companies that these users belong to. The companies are listed globally within your system, so if the same company is working for you on multiple projects, you can just link them in the same way as you assign users to a project.
